Politics is offered as one of two subjects in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's programme. Please note the subject combination options.
The degree programme in Political Science imparts knowledge of political systems, political processes, political content as well as theoretical and analytical relationships of political organisations in modern societies. At Leibniz 鲍苍颈惫别谤蝉颈迟盲迟 Hannover, the subject is offered in the nationally and internationally recommended breadth, i.e. the areas of political theory and history of ideas, comparative government, international relations and political science methods are represented. Other areas covered by the Institute of Political Science include political sociology, policy areas and political administration. Since the interdisciplinary bachelor's programme is polyvalent, i.e. it includes a teaching option, the sub-area of didactics of political education is also represented.

The degree programme is divided into an introductory module, basic compulsory modules and a module on political science statistics. Depending on the choice of subjects (politics as a first or second subject) and the study objective (teaching or non-teaching professional fields), the degree programme is completed with compulsory and elective modules.
As part of the interdisciplinary bachelor's programme, students with a teaching focus must complete a four-week non-school internship and a four-week school internship. The non-school internship serves to give students a first insight into the world of work outside of school and thus to help them to check their professional orientation. For students with an non-school-based focus, an eight-week non-school-based internship must be completed.

Zugangsvoraussetzungen
Some subjects in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor鈥檚 Degree Programme are restricted: Biology, Computer Science, English Studies (school subject: English), Geography, German Studies (school subject: German), History, Music, Performing Arts, Politics, Sports and Study of Religion / Values and Norms.
Other subjects are admission-free: Catholic Theology (school subject: Catholic Religious Education), Chemisty, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Protestant Theology (school subject: Protestant Religious Education), Spanish Studies (school subject: Spanish).

Note: The admission regulations reflect the legally prescribed subject combinations in the Master regulation of Lower Saxony.

Termine
01.06.-15.07. of the year for the winter semester
- First-year students (application for the 1st semester) can only apply for the winter semester.
- Those continuing their studies (application for higher semesters) can also apply for the summer semester (December 1st - January 15th.
The following applies to applications from non-EU countries:
- VPD from uni-assist OR a passed assessment test (Feststellungspr眉fung) of a preparatory foundation course (Studienkolleg) is required.
- Applications for the Studienkolleg must be submitted by July 15th.
