Outgoing Week - Around the World with Leibniz

Are you studying at LUH and would like to spend part of your studies in abroad and experience a different culture? Then check out "Around the World with Leibniz“ to the Outgoing Week from November 18 - 22, 2024.

LUH offers you a wide range of opportunities to broaden your horizons internationally: In addition to a semester abroad, you can also complete an internship, a summer school or a research stay abroad. Opportunities are open to you on several continents! From Latin America to Europe and Asia to Oceania, the various regions, partner universities (more than 300!) and contacts for a stay abroad with Leibniz University are presented here.

Come ‘Around the world with Leibniz’ and find out more about exchange programmes, tips and tricks, funding opportunities and be inspired by the stories of former outgoing students. The staff at the International Office will be happy to advise you and provide you with help and advice. The programme is varied and a different region is the focus of Outgoing Week every day. If you don't want to miss out on this unique opportunity to study abroad, come along!

  • Monday, 18.11.2024: General Information

    11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: General information event
    As a kick-off event, we will give you an overview of opportunities abroad at LUH and present the Outgoing Week.

    12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Information event on financing options
    Get all the information you need about funding options to find out how you can complete your stay abroad with Leibniz University! What scholarships are available? Am I entitled to BAföG abroad? And what is this so- called PROMOS? Come along to get all these questions and more answered.

    12:15 to 13:15 p.m.: Turkish Crash Course  (in presence, )
    Event organised by the Leibniz Language Centre as part of our Outgoing Week! Get an insight into the diversity of the Turkish language in this crash course.

    2 p.m. to 4 p.m:. International Fair (in presence, in the foyer of the )
    The International Office will be hosting an international fair about studying abroad with the Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø. Come along and find out more at the various information stands.

    4 to 5 p.m.: World of Students info event for freemovers (in presence,)
    Would you like to spend a semester abroad independently of university partnerships or is your university of choice not one of our partner universities? Then the option of going abroad as a freemover might be something for you! ​​​​​​​ is an organisation that specialises in helping students to find the right university abroad and thus offer them the chance to spend an unforgettable time.

  • Tuesday, 19.11.2024: Focus Latin America

    10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Study abroad and internship with Erasmus+ (in presence, )
    Information event of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering about study abroad opportunities with LUH.

    11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Stays abroad in Latin America  )
    Here we present opportunities abroad and financing options. We will also talk about the application process and answer your questions.

    12 p.m. to 1 p.m. : Meet Mexico! (in presence, )
    César and Ivy from Guanajuato (Mexico) talk in Spanish and English about their experiences and student life in Mexico. The exchange takes place every Tuesday, further information at:

    2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Teaching internationally (in presence, )
    Information stand about stays abroad for student teachers.

    4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Conversation Round: Latin American Students answer questions about "Student Life in Latin America" (in presence, in the foyer of the )
    Latin American students will answer your questions on the topic: ‘Student life in Latin America’. The event will be held in English.

    From 6 p.m. Information event on the semester abroad as part of the economic faculty programs (in presence, )
    Information event about economic faculty programs (incl. Erasmus). The event is aimed at students enrolled at the Faculty of Economics and Management.

  • Wednesday, 20.11.2024: Focus Europe

    10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Erasmus+: Study and internship abroad (in presence, at the )
    Information event on studying and internships abroad with the Erasmus+ program. Short experience report by a former Erasmus student

    12:30 p.m. to 14:30 p.m.: Pop-up international information stand (in the foyer of the )
    In addition to the counseling sessions online and at the International Office, we will be hosting our pop-up information stand. Come and visit us and get information about all the opportunities abroad with LUH.

    2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Information event on studying abroad for students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (in presence, )
    Information and advice on studying abroad for students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

    4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Info session on EULiST ()„Together Towards the Future: Information Event on the European University Alliance - 'European Universities Linking Society and Technology' (EULiST)“. Here students can find out about the many opportunities through the EULiST alliance.

    4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Information session on studying abroad with the Erasmus+ program for students of special education (BA) and educational science (MA ()
    The event is aimed at students of special education from the 3rd BA semester onwards, as well as students of the Master of Educational Sciences.

    5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Erasmus information event for outgoing students of Physical Geography (in presence, )
    Information and advice on studying abroad with the Institute of Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology.

  • Thursday, 21.11.2024: Asia and India

    9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Presentation of partner universities from China, Japan, South Korea
    Fukushima University, Ajou University and Xi’an Jiaotong University introduce themselves and their exchange programs.

    10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Presentation of Indian partner universities 
    IIT Indore, IIT Mandi, IISER Pune and Ashoka University introduce themselves and their exchange programs.

    11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Attention student teachers: Internship at an elite school in Shanghai! ()
    Student teacher Emelie reports: Exciting insights from her internship at LUH's partner school in Shanghai.

    You can spend a great semester abroad with ISEP! Here we present the program and answer your questions.

    12 p.m. to 14:00: Pop-up international information stand (in the )

    1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Funding lines of the Fulbright Program
